And then the snow rolled in. It was crazy windy and crazy cold. The mountains were completely obscured. In just a few minutes my fingers were so numb it was all I could do not to drop the camera, let alone try to manually focus it for the first time ever, and it was so windy that even if I could have controlled the focus the darn tree wouldn't stay still enough for a macro shot.
| Not what I was going for at all. |
So instead I leave you with one of my very favoritest tree shots of all time. I took this several years ago on a retreat in college. I'm pretty sure I used the macro setting on my camera (whatever I had then... actually, it was probably my sister's camera).

| Very proud of this one. |
Go see Cari and the gang for their incredible pictures!

You are right, the second picture is really beautiful. But honestly the landscape may not have been what you were hoping for, but there is a lot of depth in there, all the little things far away in the mist...pretty!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it so frustrating when you've got a picture all planned out, like thoughtfully prepared and everything, and it doesn't work out? Ugh. But yours did work out, because the colors are very pretty and subtle in the background.
ReplyDeleteThat second one, though. Woosh. That one is gorgeous.
Thanks for linking up. See you next week.
Love the second one also. Looks very close to one Cari took and had framed for me several years ago. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThose droplets are so cool. I love photos that show motion stopped. Does that make sense? It sounds weird when you say it out loud.
