7 Quick Takes (vol. 21)

--- 1 ---
I received an Amazon gift certificate from work for Christmas, and last week I finally decided how I would spend it.  My order arrived on Monday and I've been thoroughly enjoying this book since then:

I've enjoyed Rachel's blog for a while now, and her stories about her boys are absolutely hilarious.  I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys stories of children's antics--whether you have boys, or kids at all.  Wonderful.
--- 2 ---
Another exciting piece of my order was this:
As soon as I opened the box I started reading through this cookbook, but I had stop after February because my mouth was watering and my stomach was growling.  I'm so excited to try out these recipes.  I absolutely love soup--something I think I get from my dad.  I often tell him that most of the best things in life begin with sauteing onions and garlic in a little bit of olive oil (except, you know, ice cream and mojitos and babies, and stuff like that).

--- 3 ---
Actually, if one were competing on Chopped or Iron Chef America, ice cream or mojitos could conceivably begin with onions and garlic and olive oil... but probably not.  And babies... well, if the way to a man's heart is truly through his stomach... okay, I'll stop there.

--- 4 ---
Okay, no, I won't really stop.  Speaking of babies (and things arriving in the mail (but not babies arriving in the mail))--look at the adorable quilt my mom made for Liam!

so happy!

don't take your eyes off the cheetah!

attack!

'tozy,' as Michael would say
Thank you, Grandmama!!!

--- 5 ---
Yes, Grandmama.  Michael was stubbornly refusing to say "Grandma" very clearly.  He would pretty much call both of them "Grandpa," but then one day a couple weeks ago he was watching Downton Abbey with me and started repeating "Grandmama" (more of "Mamama," but still pretty clear).  Mom agreed, and she is now Grandmama.

--- 6 ---
Michael has become quite the backseat driver.  I was lost in thought while stopped at a red light yesterday, until I heard "dreen! dreen!" from the backseat.  Sure enough, the light had turned green.  He also yells "tcharge!" pretty regularly while accelerating to merge onto the interstate.

--- 7 ---
And, because I think they are absolutely hilarious, I leave you with Bad Lip Reading of the NFL and Presidential Inauguration.  The presidential debates were pretty good too.  Brush on your sassy face!

Go see Jen for more quick takes!  Happy Friday :)
